Crea tus accesorios

Hace poco descubrí una enciclopedia de artes creativas de 1978 que me dejó fascinada. Enseña a hacer un montón de cosas que poco a poco os iré mostrando. Para abrir boca os muestro una manera de crear vuestras propias horquillas, colgantes, pins... lo que se os ocurra.

I recently discovered an encyclopedia of crafts, 1978 and I loved. Teaches a lot of things that l will show you. First of all I show you how to create your own forks, pins ... what will happen.

Lo primero de todo dibujad la forma de lo que queráis hacer en un pedazo de chapa de madera de unos 2 mm de grosor. Pueden venir muy bien como plantillas los moldes con formas para hacer galletas.

First of all draw the form of something that you like in a piece of wood about 2 mm tickness. Are well as templates shaped molds to make cookies.

Se le ha de dar la forma que se haya escogido con una cuchilla adecuada para recortar la madera y suavizar los bordes con papel de lija. Después, pegar una horquilla o imperdible en la parte trasera con un pegamento no muy espeso y dejar secar.

You must give the form that you have chosen whit a special cutter for cutting wood and smooth the edges with sandpaper. Then, stick a fork or pin in the back with a not very thick glue and let dry.

Sujetándolo por la horquilla o imperdible, aplicar una capa de pintura de esmalte sobre la cara superior y los costados. Dejar secar completamente.

Holding the fork or pin, apply a coat of enamel paint on the upper face and sides. Allow to dry completely.

Si además quieres añadirle bolitas o brillantes como la chica de las fotos, utiliza unos palillos para aplicar el pegamento y colocar los adornos. Resulta más limpio que hacerlo con los dedos.

If you want to add little balls (or whatever you want) as the girl of the photos, use chopsticks to apply the glue and place the decorations. It's cleaner that do it with your fingers.

Flores y libros por Sant Jordi

Hoy es el día de Sant Jordi y aunque no soy mucho de tradiciones siempre está la excepción, como todos sabemos, así que hoy la he seguido, aunque permitiéndome algunas `licencias´, eso sí.

He salido de casa y dirigiéndome hacia Las Ramblas, he disfrutando de otras flores que no eran rosas.

Today is Sant Jordi's day. I don't like traditions but there's always an exception, as we all know, so today I followed it, even allowing me some 'licenses'.
I went to Las Ramblas and enjoyed other flowers that weren't roses.

Recorriendo el largo camino que supone La Rambla cuando está llena de gente, he encontrado un bonito libro y me lo he regalado. Todo esto sienta muy bien.

Walking the long road is La Rambla when is full of people, I found a nice book and I took it as a present for me.  That's make you feel really good.

Por otro lado estoy haciendo pequeños experimentos con lanas y telas.

 I'm doing little experiments with wool and cloths too.

Tesoros de mercado

Tras unos días atacada por un virus (o varios) y los momentos posteriores en los que una aún es consciente de lo bien que se está cuando se está bien, vuelvo a la carga. El domingo pasado me pasé por el Flea Market y como siempre me pasa en estos casos encontré algún tesoro. Por un lado este precioso costurero que me viene genial para guardar mis hilos y demás.

After a few days attacked by a virus (or more) and the after when one's aware of how good it's when you're well,I'm back. Last sunday I went to the Flea Market and as always happens in these cases I found some treasure. First this lovely sewing that comes great for keeping my threads and others.

Y por otro lado y como invocación para que llegue ya el buen tiempo un vestido para el verano. Con esta tela no me pude resistir.

Also and as invocation to get good weather, a dress for summer. With this cloth I couldn't  resist.

Peter Bagge y Odio

Hace ya unos cuantos años una amiga me descubrió uno de los comics más brillantes que jamás he leído: Odio. 

A few years ago a friend showed me one of the most brilliant comics I've ever read: Hate.

Da igual que seas lector habitual de comics o no (yo no lo soy especialmente), Odio no tiene desperdicio. Nos habla de Buddy Bradley, de su vida y relación con familia, amigos y novias. Un perfecto representante de la época grunge de los 90 sin ninguna motivación por absolutamente nada. 

If you're regular reader of comics or not (I'm not especially) is not important, Hate is great. Tells the story of Buddy Bradley, his life and relationship with family, friends and girlfriends. A perfect representative of the grunge of the 90's without any motivation.

A partir de aquí empecé a leer todo lo que caía en mis manos de Peter Bagge; Mundo Idiota (de donde surgió el personaje de Buddy), Sudando tinta, Apocalipsis friki... anterior y posterior, no decepciona. Si queréis pasar buenos momentos no dejéis de leerlo.

From there I started reading everything of Peter Bagge; Neat Stuff (where appears for the first time Buddy) Sweatshop, Apocalypse Nerd... , previous and later, doesn't disappoint. If you want to have good times read it.

Come, teje, habla

Hoy Las Niñas Antiguas hemos dado el pistoletazo de salida a la primavera con un picnic en el Parc de la Ciutadella y ha sido un no parar. Cada una hemos preparado algo para picar y nos hemos ido con nuestros bártulos ganchilleros para allá. Entre otras Niñas están; Mian de ¡¿...de Iaies?!, Beth de Como verde hiedra , Merche de Flor de Romero, Marta de Todo mini y Judith de Volvoreta Bcn.

Today Las Niñas Antiguas have opened the spring with a picnic in the Parc de la Ciutadella and has been great. Everyone have prepared something to eat and we went with our crochet there. Some girls are, Mian of ¡¿...de Iaies?!, Beth of Como verde hiedra, Merche of Flor de Romero, Marta of Todo mini and Judith of Volvoreta Bcn.

Le hemos dado a todo; comer, tejer, reír, hacer planes... y se nos ha pasado el tiempo volando. Con el sol ya aquí esto no ha hecho más que empezar. 

We have done everything; eat, weave, laugh, make plans ... and time has passed very quickly. With the sun here it has only just begun.

Además hoy hemos tenido una compañía muy especial :o)

Dora

Os presento a Dora. Dora es una muñeca con inquietudes y segura de sí misma. También es muy positiva, lo que le abre el camino hacia la felicidad.

She is Dora. Dora is a doll with concerns and sure of herself. She's very positive, which opens the way to happiness.

Actualmente trabaja como recepcionista en una empresa de moda, lo que le permitiría estar a la última si no fuera porque tiene un estilo muy marcado que ella misma se ha creado.

She now works as a receptionist in a fashion company, which would allow it to be cool but she has a style very marked that she herself has created.

En sus ratos libres lee y lee sin parar. Tiene una gran biblioteca en casa.

In her spare time reads and reads. Has a big library at home.

Pero lo que realmente le gustaría es escribir sus propios libros y que la gente los leyera. Ya está haciendo sus pinitos.

But what she really wants is to write their own books and people read them. She has started.

Cosas que hacer en Semana Santa cuando estás con tiempo

Inmersos en esta semana y con más tiempo del habitual una puede hacer lo que le plazca. Dar paseos bajo los rayos de sol o las gotas de lluvia, tomar unas cervezas bien frías (o lo que se guste), ver telebasura  tumbada en el sofá, dedicar más entusiasmo a ricas recetas de cocina, mantener charlas interesantes con uno mismo o leer un libro. Si esto está en tus planes permíteme una recomendación: Epiléptico de David B. sin duda uno de los mejores libros que he leído. 

Immersed in this week and with more time than usual I can do what I want. Walk under the sun or the rain, have a few beers cold (or what is like it), see television programs lying in the sofa, devoting more enthusiasm cooking, interesting talks with yourself or read a book. If this is in your plans let me a recommendation: Epilepticus of David B. without a doubt, one of the best books that i have read.

Muestra la visión de alguien que convive con una enfermedad y consigue reflejar todos los sentimientos contradictorios de amor y odio que ello conlleva. 

The vision of someone living with a disease and reflect all mixed feelings of love and hate that this involves.

Yo por mi parte y tras unos intensos días entre lanas ya he terminado la manta.

After a intense days between needles I have finished the quilt.

Espero que la personita que va la va a recibir la disfrute mucho.
